We need your help!
Youth Sports in Mission Bay are at Risk!

The Bob McEvoy complex which hosts baseball, softball, soccer, tennis, and more, was constructed on land dedicated to the City in the mid-1950’s by Bob McEvoy for the sole purpose of supporting youth athletics.

It is now at risk due to a new framework proposal for De Anza Cove that would turn much of the area into wetlands.

Please voice your opinion by emailing: [email protected] by Thursday, Feb 10th

Include (copy/paste) the following into your email, or please write your own support note:

  • I want to voice my support of the preservation of the Bob McEvoy Youth Sports fields in the De Anza Cove plan.
  • The McEvoy Fields were constructed on private land dedicated to the City for the purpose of youth sports. The De Anza Cove plan must preserve the existing field complex.
  • The destruction of this field complex would eliminate the MBYB youth baseball and MBGS girls softball leagues within our community and severely impair PYSL youth soccer to operate by eliminating fields.
  • Our families and children need a place to play soccer, baseball, softball, and other active sports in our community.

Please email today and also forward this email to your friends who may be willing to support us.

The City of San Diego’s proposal to expand wetlands as described within its De Anza Cove Amendment to the Mission Bay Master plan will destroy the Bob McEvoy complex with no guarantee of replacement.
